Cosmetic Bonding
Tooth-coloured resin used to repair chips, even out edges or close small gaps.
Small changes with tooth-coloured resin
A small chip, an uneven edge or a space between teeth can change the balance of a smile. Bonding offers a carefully targeted way to refine those details.
Tooth-coloured composite resin is applied, shaped and polished directly onto the tooth. Shade and contour are selected to blend with your smile, with treatment focused on the areas that matter to you.
- Refine small chips and uneven edges
- Close suitable small spaces
- Often requires minimal tooth preparation
What to expect
Assess the tooth
Assess the tooth, your bite and the change you want. Discuss whether bonding is the appropriate option.
Shape and blend
Select a shade and build the composite directly on the tooth, shaping the contour.
Polish and protect
Check your bite, polish the surface and explain cleaning and future maintenance.
Risks, alternatives and aftercare
Treatment availability, fees and clinician provision must be confirmed with the practice. Suitability and results are individual.

What to consider
Bonding is not suitable for every gap or bite. Composite can stain, wear or chip and is less stain-resistant than porcelain. Preparation may still be needed in some cases. Alignment or other options may be more appropriate.
Caring for your smile
Brush and clean between your teeth as advised. Avoid biting hard objects, and attend reviews for polishing or repairs when needed. Grinding may require additional protection.
